Dream Catcher Award Recipients

Lion Wanda Breimhorst of the Jordaness Lions was awarded a Dream Catcher Award on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at The Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, MN by District Governor Marvin Grimm.

The Bemidji Lions presented a Dream Catcher Award to Joy Johnson, CEO, an individual honor for her successful efforts in bringing a wound and hyperbaric treatment center to Bemidji.

The Bemidji Lions Club presented the staff of the Hyperbaric Treatment Center at Sanford a Dream Catcher Award for the special health services the treatment center provides to patients in the Bemidji region.

The Bemidji Lions Club presented Lion Ron Porter an individual honor in recognition of his community service, including volunteer work at Sanford Medical Center and coordination of special Lions Club meetings at Sanford Medical Center and a tour of the Hyperbaric Center. Ron is a two time president of the Bemidji Lions Club.

November 3rd at the annual District Governor’s Dinner that Cook Lions Club hosted, 5M10 District Governor, Bill Michl, presented a Dream Catcher Award from the Cook Lions Club to Lion Mark Eyre.

The Mankato Sunrise Lions Club presented the Dream Catcher Award to Lion Frank Smasal.

White Bear Lake Lions Club of District 5M6 presented Lion Paul Loken a Dream Catcher award on March 5, 2016 for his efforts in diabetes education.

A Dream Catcher Award was given to Lion Patti Anderson from the Duelm Area Lions Club. Lion Patti has been a charter member of the club since 2004.

Pierz Lion Merlin Bruns (right) was awarded the Club’s 2015 Dream Catcher Award for the Club’s support and service to the Minnesota Lions Diabetes Program. The award was presented at the Pierz Lions monthly meeting on September 16, 2015 by fellow Lion Gene Poser (left).

Lion Steve Strusinski was presented the Dream Catcher Award by the Wildwood Lions Club at their 60th Anniversary Celebration on June 20, 2016.

Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation Trustee Gary Stevens presents the Dream Catcher Award to Eden Prairie Lion Don Opheim at the Eden Prairie Lions Award Ceremony - November, 2016.

The Princeton Lions awarded a Dream Catcher to Lion Carol Breitkreutz, wife of our Acting District Governor, Jack Breitkreutz. The award was presented by Lion Arnold Alferness of the Princeton Lions Club at their Awards Banquet held 12/5/16 at the Princeton Golf Club.  Lion Carol received this honor for her hard work and dedication to Lion projects that, among others, include Diabetes as a primary focus.

Gary Lions LeAnn and Randy Moen were presented with the Dream Catcher Award for their contribution to the MN Lions Diabetes Foundation. The award was presented by Lions 5M11 District Governor Mike Janssen and Lion Kim Peters and Gary Lions President Gene Hanson at the Gary Lions Governor’s Night on March 20.  LeAnn and Randy were instrumental in conducting a Diabetes Day in Gary and setting up an information table at the Norman County East Health Fair. Lion Greg “Chip” Menke was presented with a Dream Catcher Award for his ongoing service to the Shakopee Lions and District 5M2 by Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation Trustee Wanda Breimhorst. Chip was nominated for the honor by his club to recognize his service as the current president of the Shakopee Lions, his involvement in all of the club projects, his service as a member of the 2017 District 5M2 Convention Committee and his commitment to making his community and the world a better place to live through Lionism.

The Wannaska Lions Club was awarded the Dream Catcher Award at their January meeting.  They hope to see a day where diabetes is no longer.  Thank you to the MN Lion's Diabetes Foundation, Inc. for the work they do in accomplishing this goal.

The Dream Catcher Award was presented to Bob Fitterer for almost 20 years of work with the American Diabetes Association to raise awareness and funds through the Mankato Area Step out to Fight Diabetes Walk. The award was presented to Bob by the Mankato Sunrise Lions on January 4, 2018 at the WOW!Zone in Mankato.
